A final Safeway2School project presentation was given at the 9th ITS Europe Conference in Dublin on 06.06.2013.


The European traffic safety project SAFEWAY2SCHOOL has been awarded ”Stora Trafiksäkerhetspriset 2013” in Sweden. The prize goes to an organization that during 2012 focused on developing safety issues in traffic and other transportation systems.

Reflexsnurran - A Signalling System for the Dark

Reflexsnurran is a reflex signalling system for the dark. It will support the SAFEWAY2SCHOOL pilot in Sweden and will be included into the evauation of safety systems.

A major road safety event

A major road safety event will be held in Athens, Greece, February 21-22, 2011.


Dr Anna Anund, coordinator of the SAFEWAY2SCHOOL-project, will present the concept of the SAFEWAY2SCHOOL-project at the yearly Swedish public transportation fair – Persontrafik 2010 – at Stockholmsmässan October 26-28, 2010.

The Visibility of Signs

The SAFEWAY2SCHOOL project is in the news. At the IIID Traffic & Transport 2010 conference at Tech Gate in Vienna, Austria, September 9-10, Dr Thomas Porathe of Mälardalen University in Eskilstuna, Sweden presented a method for measuring the visibility of traffic signs.
